Longtime friends Alex and Federico found a way to reconnect through love of sport and the ocean. They had lost contact because of their busy professional lives and family obligations. But surrounded by Miami’s beautiful waters, the two friends started swimming off the beach near the Rickenbacker Bridge to Key Biscayne. It wasn’t easy at first; Swimming 300 yards seemed like a huge accomplishment. But Alex and Federico made progress and began to swim longer distances, eventually participating in open-water swimming competitions. Now, they want to share that same experience with others. MIAFASTTURTLES was created to provide a safe, fun and encouraging environment for swimmers of all abilities.
